The question before us here in Solheimar is no less than “How do we live our lives?” I guess that question is always upon us. Here and now, though, I feel the opportunity to make discoveries and choices that my mainstream life in the U.S. discouraged.
There are so many sub-questions within this investigation of sustainability. Before we delve into these specific issues, I would like to spend some time simply marveling at the scope of the topic we have gathered here to explore. What is it that truly makes us happy? What is it that guides our choices? Do we want to exercise supreme control of our surroundings to ensure that we are indeed sustainable? Do we want to give much of our surroundings and their processes back to nature? Do we want something in between?
Let us be together now. The mystery and wonder of life is here with us too, right now. Lets dive into it individually as a group. Let’s be silent until we are not, and then silent again when we are. Let us not let this moment slip away uninvestigated and unloved, without having learned from it. Here we are, lets see the world! - Jason Moser
